Overview of this website

This website – henrikunne.com – belongs to me, “Henke” (my nickname in the Swedish language).

I am a 70-year old man (at the time of writing - March 2025) living in the greater Stockholm area in Sweden. I nurse the ambition of sharing some of my thoughts with my fellow human beings in the relatively few years which I expect I have left to me before I “kick the bucket” due to old age.

I intend to build up this website gradually – with a succession of debate pieces, essays and a very few entire e-books uploaded here one after the other, over the coming years.

The main attraction on my website will be a book which I am currently writing to completion: Bad Philosophy as a Cause of Psychosis. This book will try to establish a causal connection between my maleducation at an elite prep school in Massachusetts during my teenage years – and my bout with alleged schizophrenia roughly three years after I ran away from that awful prep school. That was a long time ago – the late 1960s and early 1970s, in fact.

But today I am still damaged. The maleducation system in the USA – where I lived during eleven years of my childhood – caused me to develop some truly major mental health problems during my teenage years. In fact, I was committed to a mental hospital for a total of fifteen months – with a diagnosis of schizophrenia – when I reached the age of 18 and 19. The American maleducation system drove me literally insane! Ayn Rand´s analysis of progressive education in her essay The Comprachicos was spot on!

Well – I refuse to hide the fact that I have suffered from mental health issues. Why should I be embarrassed or ashamed for having suffered from mental health issues? I did not choose to become mentally ill on purpose (although my own volitional choices were involved in my gradually going insane - see my book, Bad Philosophy as a Cause of Psychosis, for details). My going insane was mostly just rotten luck. And, specifically, it was fundamentally due to the evil of the “Comprachicos” – as the genius philosopher Ayn Rand called them. “Them” being the members of the establishment who were responsible for creating the American maleducation system.

So – I am a recovered psychotic. And – I am a long-time student of Ayn Rand´s wonderful philosophy – the one called Objectivism. These two facts taken together give me an unusual perspective on many controversial philosophical issues. Especially issues concerning the causation of psychoses. This website will therefore present the public with some very idiosyncratic views of mine.

Views on such diverse subjects as:

1) The causation of psychoses (in my already uploaded e-book on this site Bad Philosophy as a Cause of Psychosis).

2) The causation of individual men´s (lack of) intelligence (in my forthcoming book on this site Volitional Intelligence).

3) The role of modern philosophy and modern education in the causation of the epidemic of mental health problems which afflict the modern world.

4) The distribution of the moral responsibility for the deplorable state of the world today.

5) My views on Ayn Rand´s regrettable element of “Pollyannaism”. I.e. Ayn Rand´s failure to be sufficiently judgmental! My view is - believe it or not(!) - that Ayn Rand sacrificed justice to mercy an awful lot when she passed moral judgments on many of her fellow men! And – I will back up that “outrageous” statement of mine on this here website! In due time – i.e. when I get around to it.

Stay tuned!
